Sunshine in January: Zoahh & Koi Throw Open “windows” for a Summer-Ready Anthem

Written by Alexandria Anglade

When winter dragged on too long, Zoahh answered with sunshine. His new single “windows,” featuring rising melodic rapper Koi, was born in January’s chill but engineered to sound like top-down summer. “I wanted an anthemic pop track that felt like warm air after months of cold,” he says. Koi’s breezy cadence became the finishing touch, sealing in the season-shifting vibe.

Zoahh’s approach to balancing authenticity with listener appeal is remarkably simple: if he loves the track, chances are his fans will too. Each release aims to merge the ever-changing pulse of modern pop-rap with a stamp that’s unmistakably his. Recent singles prove that formula—catchy enough for playlists yet personal enough to feel like a diary entry.

His writing process starts with a spark: a drum loop or a guitar riff. Once the core groove clicks, lyrics flow almost automatically. While unreleased music often draws inspiration from his current relationship, “windows” pulls from earlier heartbreaks, reshaped into a cohesive, carefree hook.

That DIY evolution defines Zoahh’s sound today. Gone are the days of downloading random YouTube beats. Now he builds songs from scratch, sculpting every chord progression and percussion line until it mirrors his influences—think Dominic Fike’s indie-pop edge or Zac Greer’s buoyant melodies—without losing originality.

Collaboration remains crucial. “Getting another perspective can flip your entire idea on its head, in a good way,” Zoahh says. Koi’s feature was a no-brainer; his laid-back delivery meshes seamlessly with the song’s sun-kissed groove. Every joint effort doubles as a masterclass, widening Zoahh’s creative tool kit.

Still, challenges loom, especially on the business side. Marketing plans, playlists, and metrics don’t come naturally, but he’s learning by repetition—finding what works and running with it. Fan feedback keeps the motivation high; every DM or comment about how a song hits home reminds him why the grind is worth it.

What does he hope listeners take away? “I don’t always know what I’m doing,” Zoahh laughs, “but I’m having fun and aiming for the best product possible.” Those trial-and-error lessons—growing pains, breakups, small victories—spill across his catalog. With “windows,” he offers a reminder that even in the dead of winter, you can roll down the glass, blast a feel-good track, and escape into the possibility of summer for three perfect minutes.
