Where Healing Meets Melody: The Story of Vashtii

Vashtii stepped into music the way some people stumble into healing, by accident but right on time. After losing his Uncle Spade, he ended up one day chilling with his partners, bored and looking for something to do. They opened up GarageBand just to play around, not expecting anything serious to come from it. The songs they made that day were not polished or close to perfect, but something clicked for him.

Hearing his own voice layered over a beat sparked a feeling he had never experienced before. What started as a simple distraction turned into a space where he could let his emotions breathe. Music slowly became the place where he could release everything he carried, even the feelings he could not explain out loud.

As he continued experimenting, he developed a creative process built entirely on feeling. Picking the right beat is everything to him. Since he harmonizes, if the beat does not move him, the song will not be made. Once the beat locks in, he hums melodies repeatedly until the right one forms in his head. From there, he punches in bar by bar without writing anything down. When he is locked in that zone, he slides effortlessly and refuses to slow down.

Describing his sound is simple for him. It is melodic, raw, and authentic. He never holds back, even when the topic is something others might be afraid to admit. His music expresses struggles, emotions, and betrayal. It reflects the real life he lives. Influences like Future, Lucci, and Young Thug shaped his taste early on, while artists like Shordie Shordie inspire his melodic style. Still, the biggest source of inspiration comes from the people around him and the experiences that molded him.

If there is one message he wants to leave behind, it is perseverance. Vashtii grew up in Alton, Illinois before moving to Georgia at age twelve. Back home he never got support. His name was never mentioned when conversations about music came up. In Atlanta the energy is completely different. People show love. The contrast taught him to keep going even when it feels like nobody is watching. To focus on the listeners who genuinely care. He knows it is only a matter of time before talent speaks louder than doubt. Eventually the ones who pretended not to see him will have no choice but to admit he is hard.

Along the journey, staying focused has been one of his biggest challenges. There were moments where he questioned why he was chasing something that felt slow or stagnant. He held songs back because he thought people wouldn’t care or would hate on them. But once he made the commitment to drop consistently, everything shifted. People began telling him his music touched them. Some even apologized for doubting him. He stays humble through it all, reminding himself that this is part of the game. His priority is perfecting his craft and giving listeners the sound they love to hear.

The greatest reward for him so far is hearing that people listen to Vashtii every day. Knowing he can impact someone just by speaking on the real things he goes through is what motivates him to keep creating.
