KultKlasc makes music that’s as raw as it is cathartic, born out of his deepest regrets, his darkest hours, and a fierce determination to reach anyone who might feel like they’re standing at the edge. His latest song, “HER BIRTHDAY,” is both a tribute and a confession. Written in the wake of a girlfriend’s suicide—an event he blames on his own failings—it confronts anguish and responsibility head-on. Though it exposes a wound that may never fully heal, the track stands as a testament to his urgent desire to keep others from stepping into similar darkness.
He first ventured into music as a way to heal. For KultKlasc, making songs became a lifeline when he felt lost—an attempt to reassure anyone listening that they aren’t alone in this painful world. His audience, he says, is specifically those at their wits’ end, those wrestling with the shadows of hopelessness. If he can help just one person find a spark of light, he’ll have succeeded in his most essential goal.
His creative process draws heavily on reflection. Weighed down by the remorse of the past and haunted by the threat of nihilism, he channels that flood of emotions into lyrics that are unfiltered, bleak, and unavoidably honest. At the onset of his music-making, he leaned toward a fusion of shoegaze and rap—centered on themes of suicide and mental health. The response was harsh, as listeners recoiled from the rawness of his truth. This backlash, coupled with a serious car crash and his own deteriorating mental health, led to a three-month hiatus.
In December, KultKlasc returned to his craft with a do-or-die mentality, literally planning to end his own life after releasing one last album. Without money for producers or outside help, he poured himself into a week of sleepless nights, learning to create, mix, and refine each track by hand. Though early songs, like “tie a knot,” might have fallen short of his expectations, others—like “final goodbye..” and “your time”—sparked a positive reaction he hadn’t anticipated. It was a glimmer of hope he hadn’t felt in a long time and, crucially, a reason to keep going.
Until now, he’s worked alone, never having collaborated with another musician. Yet he looks forward to a future where synergy with another artist might push his music in new directions. This prospect, along with the slow, painstaking craft of making each song shine, keeps him moving forward, telling himself, “One day it’ll be much better. One day you’ll succeed.”
He’s never been shy about discussing mental health, urging people to take it seriously. In his eyes, even a small gesture or a simple check-in can be the difference between hope and a final decision. His music, therefore, isn’t just an expression of personal agony—it’s an attempt to shield others from the same fate. In the end, KultKlasc’s story is a powerful reminder that, even in the face of profound darkness, a single chord, a heartfelt lyric, or a moment of genuine empathy can illuminate a path back to life.
