Shaun Haider on Music, God, and the Drive to Inspire

Written by Alexandria Anglade

Shaun Haider’s connection to music has always run deep. He began singing and writing during his high school years, but it wasn’t until 2024 that he decided to take the craft seriously. With encouragement from his close friend and fellow artist Tarroxx2, Shaun leaned into music not only as a career path but also as a powerful outlet for self-expression. For him, creating music is both a gift and a calling, one that allows him to share his emotions while trusting God’s will for his journey.

When it comes to crafting songs, Shaun’s creative process starts with the beat. If he hears a track and it sparks a visual or even a color in his mind, that inspiration guides him into shaping the music. Often, he records by punching in ideas on the spot, but he also takes time to write when the moment calls for it. Depth in lyrics matters to him, and he enjoys weaving in metaphors and punchlines to balance meaning with artistry.

Shaun describes his sound as melodic, a blend shaped by the many genres he listens to without directly imitating anyone in particular. Rap and RnB remain his favorite influences, but the mix of sounds he absorbs has helped him carve out a style that feels fresh and distinct.

At the core of his music is his faith. Shaun hopes his songs can offer the same kind of comfort and connection that once carried him through difficult times. By incorporating his faith in Jesus into his lyrics, he aims to inspire listeners and give them something meaningful to hold on to.

Like many emerging artists, Shaun has faced challenges. Doubts, financial sacrifices, and the vulnerability of releasing personal art are part of the process. Yet, he views every song as a step forward, even those he doesn’t prefer.

Each track is a necessary part of his evolution and growth, helping him refine his sound and strengthen his resolve.

One of his most rewarding experiences so far has been releasing music that his friends genuinely enjoy and connect with. Hearing people quote his lyrics or play his songs in their own spaces is a feeling he treasures, a reminder that his art is resonating with those around him.
