For ROSA!, music wasn’t always the plan. Before pursuing his creative path, he was majoring in mathematics and playing football at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, with dreams of becoming a math teacher. Yet even then, music quietly played in the background. During his middle and high school years, he spent hours making beats for fun, treating production like a game only he knew how to play.
Inspired by YouTube tutorials of producers recreating instrumentals, he began mimicking their techniques until he understood the deeper logic behind production. Eventually, ROSA! started creating his own sounds and, after encouragement from his longtime friend LUNA S, decided to take music seriously. That spark, his “eureka moment,” set everything in motion and led him to join the CTM Music Collective ©, where he continues to grow as both an artist and a producer.
When creating, ROSA! begins with emotion and intention.
“Most of the time, I start with a mood or concept,” he explains. His production process is about evoking feeling, not just building a track. He starts with melodies or chord progressions, layering drums, percussion, and ear candy until the sound feels cohesive. Once the beat is finished, he shifts into recording mode, freestyling flows and lyrics that fit the song’s concept. “I know a song is done when I can’t stop replaying it in my car,” he says with a laugh.
ROSA!’s sound blends new jazz, rage rap, and electronic elements. Influenced by artists like Zodiak, Voda Fuji, Dom Coreleo, Yeat, and Future, his music carries both melodic fluidity and hard-hitting trap energy. He views his sound as ever evolving, a balance of experimentation and emotion that keeps listeners locked in.
At its core, ROSA!’s music is meant to be introspective. “I’m not gonna claim I’m some deep artist, but I want my music to give people something to think about,” he shares. His songs tell personal stories, but he hopes listeners can find pieces of themselves within his narratives. Whether through lyrics, melodies, or vocal delivery, he aims to transport people into a different mental space, even if only for a few minutes.
Like many emerging artists, ROSA! faced challenges breaking into the scene. “Promotion is difficult, especially when you’re first starting out,” he admits. Instead of relying solely on online outreach, he focused on in-person networking. “It’s more rewarding, and it’s helped me build stronger relationships,” he says. This approach led to new collaborations, performance opportunities, and organic growth in his fanbase.
His hard work paid off when he was voted one of the Top 10 Underground Minnesota artists for 2025 and participated in the UGMN Top 10 Cypher. “It was the first time I felt like I was getting my flowers,” he reflects. The recognition reassured him that his music was resonating and reminded him to trust his path.
ROSA! plans to keep the momentum going. “Consistency is the goal,” he says. With several collaborative projects in the works and a solo project underway, he aims to release more music, more visuals, and perform more shows, with hopes of touring before 2027. Personally, he’s focused on self-growth and staying grounded as his artistry evolves.
As a proud member of the CTM Music Collective ©, ROSA! continues to push boundaries with his sound and creative vision. From numbers and formulas to beats and frequencies, he has found his true rhythm, one built on introspection, community, and sound that moves both mind and soul.
