Rhyme Sporadic: Finding Clarity Through Rap and Rhythm

Written by Alexandria Anglade

Rhyme Sporadic’s path into music began more than a decade ago, sparked by fascination, necessity, and the encouragement of a peer. He was first introduced to rap cyphers through his wife’s family, and before long he was writing and rehearsing on his own. The rush of delivering lyrics in rhythm became more than a hobby.

It was a release that helped calm his restless mind. A few months later, he opened up about his new pursuit to his friend Kim Cass, a rising musician in New York City. Cass’s enthusiasm and support reassured him that he was moving in the right direction and should not stop.

When it comes to creating, Sporadic lives up to his name. His beat-making process is methodical, often built during work sessions where he layers drums, instruments, and samples to stockpile sounds. His writing, however, is more instinctive.

He draws from his life, outlook, and personal struggles, often finishing songs in a single burst of focus he calls “flooding.” Pacing back and forth with lofi music playing quietly in the background, he channels his experiences into rhymes that eventually transform into fast, aggressive tracks.

Sporadic’s sound is a blend he describes as Rap n’ Roll. While hip hop has deeply influenced his craft, his roots are grounded in the metal and rock he grew up with.

His delivery carries rasp and edge, influenced by bands like Korn, Marilyn Manson, Lamb of God, KISS, and The Beatles, while his lyrical style connects with hip hop legends like Method Man, Big L, Lil Wayne, and Eminem. The combination creates a unique fusion of raw energy and thoughtful wordplay.

Emotion is central to his music, with themes of sadness, uncertainty, and perseverance woven throughout. His lyrics often reflect overcoming mental hurdles, moving past self-destructive impulses, and surviving the weight of bullying and family struggles. By exposing his vulnerabilities, he creates songs that speak to resilience and survival.

For years, one of his greatest challenges was simply finding the courage to share his work publicly. After over a decade of creating privately, he finally released his music, a decision made after a serious personal reckoning with his passion and goals.

Since then, he has been surprised by the positive reception. Listeners from around the world have connected with his sound, relating his lyrics to their own emotions and experiences. New friendships and collaborations have quickly followed, proving to him that he is not alone on this path.

Looking forward, Rhyme Sporadic aims to keep releasing music and expand his collaborations beyond the United States. At the same time, he hopes to prioritize personal growth by adopting healthier routines, focusing on self-healing, and balancing music with time spent with his family. After nearly ten years as a stay-at-home father, he also looks forward to rejoining the workforce and building new connections in his community.

For Rhyme Sporadic, music is more than a career. It is a tool for survival, a bridge to others, and a testament to the power of expression. His journey is one of persistence, honesty, and transformation, and he is only just beginning to share it with the world.
