For Pt+, music wasn’t a planned career. It was a chance encounter that grew into a lifelong passion. His journey began when he stumbled upon Dirty Nursery Rhymes by 2 Live Crew. What started out as a laugh quickly turned into an obsession with hip hop as he dove into Too $hort, Beastie Boys, and Run-DMC. Over time, his admiration deepened for storytellers like Scarface and Tupac, whose honesty and lyricism shaped his own creative outlook.
After pushing hard in the industry for years, Pt+ stepped away in 2008 when life took him from Long Beach to North Carolina. But inspiration has a way of coming back. Watching his sons develop their own artistry reignited his drive, fueling his return with both fresh perspective and the same hunger that first pushed him toward hip hop.
Pt+ approaches music with structure and energy, typically beginning with the chorus, which serves as the heart of the track. From there, he builds verses that flow naturally around the rhythm of the beat. Once the skeleton of the song is set, he hones the details in delivery, word choice, and cadence until every layer conveys the raw energy and emotion he wants listeners to feel.
With roots firmly in 90’s West Coast rap, Pt+ embraces authenticity, rhythm, and storytelling. His music reflects the influence of Tupac, Dr. Dre, and other legends who captured real-life struggles and experiences in their work. That raw and honest West Coast vibe remains at the core of his sound today.
Pt+’s music is a reflection of real life, the ups, the downs, and the resilience required to keep moving. His songs speak to experiences that are universally relatable, and he aims to connect with listeners by being transparent and authentic. Through his beats and stories, he strives to inspire strength, honesty, and unity.
One of the greatest challenges Pt+ has faced is navigating the evolution of the industry. Coming from an era of selling music directly to people, he has had to adapt to a digital world where social media clicks often overshadow raw talent. Finding trustworthy collaborators has also been a hurdle. Pt+ overcomes these challenges by staying grounded, focusing on authentic connections, and embracing the tools of today without losing the foundation of his artistry.
For Pt+, the most rewarding aspect of his career is not fame or numbers. It is seeing people genuinely connect with his music. Even more meaningful has been watching his sons, 2 Polar and Caramel God, carve their own paths in the industry. Their growth and creativity serve as both inspiration and a reminder that this journey is about more than personal success. It is about legacy and paving the way for the next generation.
The future of Pt+ is deeply tied to his family and their collective artistry. His vision centers on growing W3APON X with his sons, creating music that not only resonates with audiences but also stands the test of time. Personally, his mission is to keep building that family legacy, proving that creativity and kinship can thrive together.
Pt+ is not just making music. He is building something bigger than himself. A story of resilience, authenticity, and legacy, his journey reflects both where he came from and where he is going.
