Caitlin Jade Morales has always been a storyteller at heart. Even as a child, she would sing along to any jingle on television or the radio, often improvising her own lyrics on the spot. It wasn’t until she joined choir in the fourth grade—and later discovered a passion for theatre in high school—that she realized the stage was where she wanted to be. Although musical theatre initially felt like her ultimate destiny, she soon found other avenues for her creativity. She began writing poetry during her freshman year of college, which led to choral lyricism, and eventually evolved into songwriting. By the time she recorded her first song, “Perceptions,” with her friend James, she was hooked; the thrill of capturing and sharing her own stories through music had become irresistible.
That creative spark typically ignites whenever she feels a surge of emotion she can’t quite contain, or experiences she wants to release. Whether wrestling with a difficult moment or searching for an outlet in which to celebrate, she’s always found creating art to be profoundly therapeutic. She considers herself fortunate to work with producer LF3, who helps bring her visions to life and refines her ideas. It’s a harmonious collaboration of bouncing concepts back and forth until a track resonates with the feeling she set out to capture.
Guided by the emotive inspiration of artists like Annie Tracy, Ella Mai, and Yebba, Caitlin gravitates toward an RnB sound that combines both vulnerability and energy. She’s drawn to the emotional freedom that RnB offers—ranging from raw, introspective ballads to high-octane tracks that invite listeners to dance. As she continues to develop her style, her goal is to mirror that transparency and honesty, so that people recognize a piece of their own stories within her music.
Authenticity lies at the core of Caitlin’s work. She pours her own experiences onto the page and into the mic, yet hopes that her audience can feel seen and understood through what she creates. She wants them to notice an artist evolving, discovering her own strengths and voice, and—hopefully—come away believing in their own power to grow.
Like many emerging musicians, Caitlin has wrestled with the practical realities of making music, especially the financial obstacles. She funds her art largely on her own, working a day job to keep her dreams afloat and sometimes sacrificing personal indulgences for another hour of studio time. Yet despite the challenges, she remains optimistic and finds that each small hurdle only makes the outcome more meaningful. One such outcome was the February 12th release of her first solo single, “voicemail,” a track she recorded more than a year before its official debut. Sharing this carefully honed piece of herself—and seeing how listeners connect with it—has been an immeasurable joy.
Looking to the future, Caitlin wants to keep exploring every frontier of music and self-expression. She has confidence that there’s much more she can accomplish, and an eagerness to remain receptive to whatever opportunities come her way. Life, to her, is both beautiful and terrifying, and she’s determined to use her voice not only to share her own thoughts but also to advocate for social issues she cares about—finding that delicate balance between artistry and activism. For now, she’ll continue embracing each new day as a chance to discover something fresh about her craft, her purpose, and the countless ways she can weave story and song into a compelling tapestry for others to behold.
