For most artists, mainstream acceptation is a common goal. However, that isn't the case for Abel Skarz.
How would you describe your style of music?
"I would say I fall under the “hybrid/Cross-genre” category/genre. My style of music is hard to define and can’t really be labeled as ONE specific genre per say, because my music has a blend of so many different genres within itself."
"With that being said, I would consider my style super diverse yet alternative. In some songs of mine you’ll hear more of an alternative pop/ punk rock vibe and others you might hear a little R&B/emo rap style to it."
Around 2019, there began a resurgence of the underground community discovering their own sounds.
Now, the music industry revolves around the vitality of social media platforms such as TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram.
What is your songwriting process like?
"So I just started recording out of my home studio as of lately, which is super convenient. The process for me is usually just me, in my dim-lit recording room, with the blue lights on and I’ll start going through different beats/instrumentals until I find one that I really connect with. Once I do, the words tend to just flow for me."
"I’ll usually go off the vibe of the track and relate it to a time or experience in my life so I can begin the writing process. For me, song writing is more than just words on a paper. It’s My form of therapy, it’s how I express myself, and some days it’s what keeps me going in a sense."
