Midnight Menace has always believed in the power of creative synergy, and that energy is on full display in his latest collaborative project with B. Winnie, Tomorrow Awaits. The two artists first connected as members of UV Sound, a collective of college-educated creatives from New Orleans who support one another by swapping beats, sharing lyrics, and offering creative direction. Their connection strengthened when B. Winnie released her album War in My Mind in 2023, featuring five tracks produced by Midnight Menace. It was clear the pair worked seamlessly together, so when the time came for B. Winnie to start her sophomore album, she noticed most of the beats she wanted were already coming from Midnight Menace—and the decision to collaborate fully just felt natural.
Working from two different cities—he in Charlotte, she in Houston—didn’t dampen their creative process in the slightest. They built ideas by sending beats and demos back and forth, giving B the freedom to explore her own lyrical direction. Simultaneously, Midnight Menace trusted his collaborator’s instinct. Because they had already worked together so well, the distance became less of a barrier and more of an invitation to trust each other’s musical instincts. Despite being miles apart, they honed in on the exact sound and themes they wanted to explore, mixing jazz, blues, soul, gospel, and contemporary influences with international samples, forming a project rich in both texture and emotional resonance.
One would think, with the complexity of so many genres, conflicts might arise, but Midnight Menace insists it simply never happened. The only difficulty was deciding which tracks would precede the album’s launch as singles. Both artists were on the same page about the album’s slower tempo and fusion of diverse musical elements. As someone who dropped his own project, MIDNIGHT MENACE, in 2024, he knew firsthand how vital it is for the overall sound to flow cohesively. If music is good and the substance is authentic, listeners will tune in regardless of how minimal or maximal the production may be. He saw that firsthand with his album, and it reinforced his belief that B. Winnie’s substance-filled music could mesh perfectly with his beats.
For Tomorrow Awaits, Midnight Menace kept a central goal in mind: craft beats that fully communicate the spectrum of emotions someone might experience. Certain tracks, like “BALLAD,” evoke a dreamy sense of enchantment, which B Winnie channeled for a story of being in a trance. Another track, “TRUTH,” gives off an air of breakthrough, and her lyrics perfectly embody that feeling. Sequencing became an essential step, ensuring each beat and lyric pairing matched seamlessly. The result is an album that feels refreshing from start to finish—no matter which song you land on, the themes and messages come together naturally.
Of course, no project is without hiccups. Minor delays in final edits and the usual self-doubt about reception were realities both artists had to face. But for Midnight Menace, none of those obstacles were enough to overshadow the positive momentum. In his view, the best way to handle setbacks is to keep forging ahead, trusting that the finished product will speak for itself.
Now, with an official release just around the corner, Midnight Menace is eager for listeners to immerse themselves in the world he and B Winnie have built. A listening party in Houston on March 15th at Houston Warehouse Studios will celebrate Tomorrow Awaits, featuring a vinyl raffle, T-shirts, live beat breakdowns, and a DJ set from Midnight Menace himself. This album represents B Winnie’s crucial sophomore release and the first time Midnight Menace has produced an entire project for another artist—milestones for both. His personal motto is that if at least one song resonates with someone, they’ve succeeded. He’s convinced *Tomorrow Awaits* more than achieves that, and he can’t wait for fans to experience this carefully curated journey.
