Life is rarely a straight road, and for Solace, the journey has been marked with bumps, potholes, and battles against depression and addiction. For him, music is not just a passion, it is a lifeline. It is the space where he can shed his armor and express the raw emotions that are often too heavy to say out loud. Through his songs, Solace is opening doors for listeners who silently struggle, giving them a reminder that they are not alone.
Most nights, Solace finds himself writing, whether it is crafting edgy punchlines or tirelessly perfecting a hook until it feels just right. By the time he enters the studio, he has rehearsed nearly fifty times, determined to make every word count. His sound lives in the realm of alternative and emo rap: vulnerable lyrics full of despair, contrasted with a sense of optimism meant to reach those who share similar battles.
Influenced by the late Lil Peep and Chester Bennington, two artists who deeply impacted his life, Solace is carrying forward their legacy by creating music that resonates with the struggles of mental health. “They saved my life with their music,” he reflects, “and it would mean the world if I could do the same for others.”
His message is clear: be yourself. It is okay to be sad, it is okay to make mistakes, and it is okay to ask for help, even when it feels terrifying. Still, the road of an independent artist comes with challenges such as staying motivated, pushing forward despite setbacks, and learning to step out of his shell to connect with others. Yet, the support from fans keeps him going. One of his most rewarding moments was after a performance when an older woman approached him in tears, sharing how much his music moved her. That heartfelt exchange remains etched in his memory as proof of his impact.
Looking ahead, Solace is determined to push emo rap back into the mainstream while working alongside mental health organizations to spread awareness and hope. His mission is not just about music, it is about building a safe outlet for life’s hardships, one song at a time.
